Chesapeake Ranger Tugs Appointed New Dealer for Chesapeake Bay Region

Ranger Tugs are well-equipped, powered by inboard diesel engines, and equipped with all the essentials for overnights or extended cruising on the boat—compact galley, fridge, full head, and accommodations for two to five people depending on the model. Ranger Tugs are also built with all the latest technology making them easy to handle and competitive with larger trawlers. Air conditioning, a generator, and Garmin touch-screen electronics are available. Bow and stern thrusters are standard on both the Ranger 25 and the Ranger 29.

Rangers run efficiently at traditional trawler speeds, but can easily cruise at speeds in the teens. Their fuel consumption is measured in pints per hour rather than gallons. They are an affordable cruising vessel for those just entering their boating career and at the same time, a full-featured yacht for veteran cruisers looking to downsize. New Ranger 25 models are equipped with Yanmar electronically controlled diesels and the Ranger 29 has a standard Yanmar Common Rail diesel.

Elaine and Ed Henn of Annapolis, MD, bought a Ranger 25 in their transition from sail to power and they describe their Ranger as, “a great boat for extended Bay cruising thanks to the cozy cabin and shallow draft. We also spent six months aboard in 2008-09 cruising all the way down the ICW to Florida for the winter.”

Chesapeake Ranger Tugs will feature one of each model at the upcoming Baltimore Boat Show, Jan. 21-24 at the Baltimore Convention Center and will offer special 2010 promotional packages. An owners’ rendezvous is being planned for May.
